Hello, is that FAWS Attorneys?’ asked a young voice
‘Yes it is’ said Lillian, the intern at FAWS Attorneys in an irritated voice. Being at work on Saturdays sU-Cked.
‘Can I speak with Barrister Kelechi? Tell him it is Chief Owen Browne who would like to speak with him’ said the receptionist to Lillian.
‘Hello’ said Barrister Kelechi, who was getting ready to go to the station to see his client, Wale Adegunwa. He wondered what the old man wanted from him so early into the case.
‘Good day, Kelechi’. I was wondering if we could meet up after work today.’ Said the Chief in a gruff voice
‘Errm sir, please, may I know what this is about?’ asked Kelechi
‘This is about this Wale boy that has been saying nonsense about me. I would like to meet with you and see what we can do about it’ said the chief
‘Sir, He is my client’ said Kelechi who wondered if the old man had begun to lose his mind.
‘I know, but we cannot allow that young boy to destroy my name like this. Don’t forget that I have a very budding political career.’ Said Chief Owen Browne
‘Sir, at FAWS , we pride ourselves on our hardwork, diligence and most importantly, our integrity. I’m afraid that I can only advise you to get yourself a very good lawyer sir because we have never lost any of our cases’ said Kelechi who was already getting irritated.
‘Kelechi, are you not a Nigerian? Do you not know how to take care of yourself?’ asked Owen Browne in disbelief
‘I am a Nigerian sir, however, it seems to have separate meanings for the both of us. For us at FAWS, to be Nigerian is to be straightforward and truthful, diligent and full of integrity. I agree that Wale missed his path, but, we have a strong case against you. Like I said before, I would advise you to get a very good lawyer’. Said Kelechi firmly.
‘I said I’m willing to drop the kidnapping charges against him if he is ready to stop telling old tales about me!’ said Chief Owen Browne
‘We thank you for trying to drop the case sir, but my client is willing to have his day in court and also tell the world the reason for his actions. He wants that old case investigated, sir’ replied Kelechi
‘I will settle you, Kelechi’ said the Chief
‘Sir, why dont you speak through your lawyers? I do not think you are managing this case well.

Like I said, we pride ourselves on our integrity, we do not sell our clients short, sir. Hello, hello’ said Kelechi into the phone
Chief Owen Browne had dropped the phone without commenting. It appeared that he had a big, big issue on his hands. He wondered if Torino could be trusted to do the job or if he should involve the police officers directly. After all, it would only cost him a hefty budget.

No matter what happened, that Wale boy must not be allowed to speak. He had the party elections coming up. Wale must be silenced.
