At the Owen Browne’s Residence, a robust lady alighted from a vehicle which parked in front of one the mansion. She came out with the confidence of one who knew the area very well.
‘Come here and open this gate you idiot’ she said condescendingly to the gateman
‘M….mma, abeg make I call Oga first’ said the gateman who was hoping to keep to his boss’ rules
‘Are you a fool? Do you think this house belongs to him? I’m the one who knows how all of this wealth was made. Just wait until my son, Gori, is better, I will have enough time and will be be back for it all. Open the gate, my friend’ the gate man hurriedly complied. He knew this woman well enough to know that she must never be crossed.

She walked into the living room freely because the front doors we unlocked. She turned her nose up in disdain at the obviously poor management of the house. In her days, this would never have been allowed to happen. There had to be someone always available to welcome visitors into the house with a warm smile and cold drinks.
‘Is there nobody in this house?’ she asked as she stepped into the living room.

Sweety Potato stepped out of the kitchen and was shocked to see the senior Mrs Owen Browne standing in the middle of her living room.
‘Can’t you greet? Didn’t your mother teach you any better? Anyway, what am I saying, she obviously did not, seeing as you have snatched another woman’s husband. Anyway, I’m not here for that. Where is that fool you call your husband? she asked caustically.
‘Who let you in?’ asked Sweety Potato, still surprised to see this unannounced visitor in her home. Wasn’t this witch supposed to be in the United Kingdom?
‘Who could keep me out is the question you are supposed to be asking yourself, you silly chit’ responded Simisola’s mother. ‘Call your husband for me. Tell him the woman who built his fortunes for him is here to see him.’ she ordered. As she ended her statement, Chief Owen-Browne walked in.
‘Ha! What are you doing here?’ he asked, obviously shocked to see his wife too.
‘Is there a problem with all of you in this house, don’t you all know how to be courteous?

Anyway, I’m not here to school you in manners.

Where is my daughter?’ she asked
‘I told my secretary to inform you in the email that I have it all sorted. Did she not say this?’ he asked
‘Firstly, you are a fool for sending an email to tell me my child had been kidnapped. Secondly, why the hell won’t you pay the ransom requested? Am I sure you do not have a hand on this? Is this history replaying itself again?’ she asked with fire flying out of her eyes.
‘What nonsense are you saying woman? Must you always be so disagreeable?’ he asked, suddenly put on the edge by her last question. ‘Sweety, can you excuse us please?’ he asked his new wife
‘Why should I do that? This is my home’ said Sweety Potato who refused to move
‘Yes why should she? Did you not share the details of your gory past with her? Does she not know what happened to your very first child? How you planned the kidnap? she asked ‘Do you want to hear a story my dear?’ she asked as she faced Sweety Potato
‘I said you should get out of here and leave me to talk to my wife alone!’ yelled the angry Chief at his younger wife
‘I’m not going oh’ said the stubborn young wife.
‘That’s the spirit my dear’ encouraged the older woman ‘You see, in the early days, when we had nothing….’ she was interrupted by her husband’s loud phone ringing and his even more boisterous response to the phone
‘Hello, IG , good morning.’ he said loudly. ‘You have good news for us? Simisola has been found?!! Is she okay? Was she hurt, hope she’s in one piece, untouched by those bastards’ he asked in a rush, pleased at the news.
‘They found her in a bush? Oh great! we have the kidnappers alive? Good. Your men did very well this time. Her mother and I would soon be on our way to the station’ he said
‘One question you say? Ok, go ahead. My connection to Olawale Adegunwa?’ he asked, obviously in shock for this was another secret long buried. He faced his older wife who had by this time burst into a dance.

As soon as he cut the call, she said ‘Congratulations, Owen Browne, your daughter has been found and all your skeletons are rearing their ugly heads. Sweetheart’, she said facing the young wife ‘please follow us to the station too oh, you might need to hold your husband’s hand as he is marched into jail’ she said ‘Oya, let’s go, I have a daughter to see’
